Medicom International has been active on the Czech pharmaceutical market since 1991. 
Medicom International is a pharmaceutical company, a member of CSC Pharmaceuticals, a supranational group owned since October 2007 by Italian Angelini Group.
Angelini Group is a family company established in 1919 in Ancona, Italy, which has subsidiaries in 18 countries and distributes its products all over the world; the annual turnover being more than 1.5 billion Euros. In Italy it belongs among the 5 largest pharmaceutical companies.
Medicom International has been doing business on the Czech market since 1991. Domestic sales expressed in production prices exceeded in 2009 the sum of 780 million CZK. As per IMS data for 2009 the company ranked 20th out of more than two hundred pharmaceutical firm’s active on the Czech market.
The objective of Medicom International company is to seek and find for the Czech health service new, high-quality medicinal drugs of own production or from foreign producers and licensed manufacturers that would suitably complement the existing therapeutic possibilities. At the moment the company exclusively represents a number of foreign pharmaceutical companies from France, Italy, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, the USA, Great Britain and other countries. The portfolio of products sold by Medicom International is made up of original and generic preparations, which are either imported or produced under license in the company’s own production facilities (Medicom International has been a holder of a GMP certificate since 1994). The range of products is meant to be used especially in internal medicine, rheumatology, gynaecology, oncology and psychiatry, but includes many other preparations, ranging from highly specialised drugs to freely marketable preparations. One of the last important innovations of the product range is new original antiviral drugs developed in the USA on the basis of effective substances discovered by Czech scientists.
Medicom International is also an important exporter within the framework of CSC Pharmaceuticals group. The company supplies medicinal drugs mainly into neighbouring countries, Baltic States and some other European markets. The main territories for exports are Poland, Slovakia and Romania. Exports in 2009 amounted to a volume exceeding 6 million euros.
